Friday Playlist with Pablo Siqueiros
Updated: Apr 23, 2021
Hi everyone! This is Pablo Siqueiros here to bring you this week’s playlist. It took me a little bit to figure out exactly what I wanted this list to include, mainly because as of late, I’m listening to a lot of podcasts or just allowing the Spotify gods to curate a playlist for me according to whatever mood I’m in, what the weather is, or what is happening in the world. So, it’s actually been a little while since I’ve sought out specific artists or songs myself. That being said, I do often find myself listening to music in Spanish, as that is my native language, I grew up in Mexico, and most of my family still lives there. So, whenever I listen to music in Spanish, it sometimes feel nostalgic and other times it grounds me in who I am at my core and where I come from. With that in mind, I’ve divided my playlist into two halves. The first half consists of songs I currently listen to, and the second half are songs that were popular when I was a kid still living in Mexico.
Part 1:
1. Natalia Lafourcade - Mexicana Hermosa (Versión Mariachi) ft. Carlos Rivera
2. Rosalía – Pienso en tu mirá
3. Reyna Tropical – No Me Quieres
4. Jenny and the Mexicats – Verde más allá
5. Ximena Sariñana – Cobarde
6. Carla Morrison – Eres tú
7. Mon Laferte – Tu Falta De Querer
8. Las Cafeteras – If I Were President
Part 2:
9. Juanes – La Camisa Negra
10. Kabah – La Calle de las Sirenas
11. OV7 – Tus Besos
12. Moenia – No Puedo Estar Sin Ti
13. Shakira – Estoy Aquí
*14. Magneto – Tu Libertad
*Opera nerds: see if you recognize the melody of this song (hint: slow it down)
